Change in CYS Service Hours
Fort Greely CYS Families,
On behalf of CYS and the Fort Greely Command team we would like to thank all of our patrons for their continued support during these times. We realize that Child and Youth Services is essential to the mission of Fort Greely, but with our current rise in cases in the local community we have decided to limit the hours of operation and patron priority usage. These mitigation efforts will ensure the health and safety of our community and the readiness of our Soldiers.
Starting 30 November 2020 the Fort Greely Child Development Center and School Age program will be adjusting operating hours from 0600-1800 to 0800-1700. In an effort to mitigate risk CYS will also be limiting patron usage to Priority 1 families who are not in a teleworking status. All patrons who are teleworking or outside of the Priority 1 status will maintain their space and fees will be suspended. All changes are HPCON status dependent and CYS patrons will be notified of further changes or updates to care status as they become available.
Additionally, CYS would like to provide patrons with an update on our mitigation efforts as we move forward with care. All CYS classrooms will be self-contained and only primary caregivers will be allowed to enter classrooms. Each classroom will maintain the same primary classroom teachers for breaks, daily care routines, and cleaning to ensure limited contact as a mitigation measure. CYS will suspend curbside drop-off and pick-up allowing patrons to take their child to the classroom door where a direct care provider from their assigned classroom will take the child into care. Please note moving forward all patrons and children will be subject to temperature checks to ensure the safety of children, staff, and essentially readiness of our Soldiers.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult and trying time. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact FMWR Director, Ms. Jessica Smith at (907) 505-0794 or email at Jessica.l.smith377.naf@mail.mil, or CYS Coordinator, Ms. Holly Keller at (907) 505-9043 or email at holly.l.keller2.naf@mail.mil.
