Winter Adventure: Quartz Lake Fish & Ride

Join the Outdoor Recreation team for a unique Winter Adventure at Quartz Lake!

Enjoy a snow machine ride along with a little ice fishing action! If you are new to ice fishing, then here is your chance to see how it’s done. The snow machine ride is a guided trip under low-risk conditions and includes a riding tutorial to get you started.

Winter Adventure Additional Details

• Meeting point: Quartz Lake Landing Parking Lot
• Meeting time: 10 a.m.
• Ending time: Approximately 4 p.m.
• Participants: Open to all MWR Eligible Patrons
  • All Ages with Legal Guardian
    • Ages 16 years and older to ride SOLO on a snow machine.
    • Two-up guided machines for Adults with Children (please check for availability).
• COVID-19 Protocol:
  • Participants must drive their own vehicles to the Meeting Point at Quartz Lake.
  • Practice Social Distancing ​​​
  • Don't forget your Mask 
    • Wear a mask or cloth face-covering when you are not able to keep 6 feet of social distancing. 

Requirements

• An Alaska State Fishing License

• Outdoor Recreation will provide Ice Fishing Equipment (fishing poles and bait, ice augers), and the know-how to get you started.

  • Warm winter hat

  • Neck gaiter
  • Boots — Tennis shoes are not allowed.
• Personal Helmet
  • If patrons do not own a helmet, Outdoor Recreation will provide one.
