May 20 is National Bike to Work Day!

Pump those pedals and join us as we celebrate the unique power of the bicycle and the many reasons we ride. Biking to work is an efficient and fun way to get the exercise you need, without having to find extra time to work out.

Get out and ride!

  • Meeting Point: Delta Junction City Park by the kids play area
  • Time: 7:00 a.m.
  • Participants will park at the City Park, ride to Fort Greely, and return after work based on their schedule.

Why Biking?

  • Biking is Fun: Biking brings people together, encourages discovery, and fosters community engagement.
  • Biking is Healthy: Bicycling can integrate physical activity into our daily routines.
  • Biking is Green: Biking curbs your carbon footprint, reduces air pollution and reliance on fossil fuels.
  • Biking saves Money: Biking cuts driving costs while reducing traffic congestion.
Following are some tips that will help you enjoy biking to work more.
  • Have your bike checked over.

  • Always wear a helmet to protect your head in the event of a crash.

  • Ride in the right-most lane that goes in the direction that you are traveling.

  • Obey all stop signs, traffic lights, and lane markings.

  • Look before you change lanes or signal a turn; indicate your intention, then act.

  • Be visible and predictable at all times; wear bright clothing and signal turns.
