Calling all young artists!

If you're young, arty, and love the outdoors, this contest is for you!

Authorized MWR patrons ages 5-18 years old, are invited to submit entries for the Kids Drawing Contest.

We are aware of the enormous challenges confronting our kids and the disruptive impact the COVID-19 is having on their lives. We hope that we can provide children a means of self-expression and reflection – a safe, creative outlet to process their emotions and make sense of their world and have fun. 

Eligibility

  • Authorized MWR patrons ages 5-18 years old are eligible to enter.
  • TWO (2) DIVISIONS
  • Children: 5-12 years old
  • Youth: 13-18 years old

Theme

Young artists can enter drawings of how their families have enjoyed the outdoors or nature during the month of April.

Drawings must be done without the assistance of an adult, and should have an outdoorsy or nature theme. 

How to Enter

  • Participants may enter up to four (4) submissions. 
  • Participants must submit drawings between 12 p.m. (AKDT) April 20 and 11:59 p.m. (AKDT) April 30, 2020, by a direct message to Fort Greely Family and MWR Facebook Page, or by a comment on the official Contest Post on our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram).

GENERAL ENTRY GUIDELINES

  • All submissions must be the original work of the entrant and do not violate any third party's proprietary or intellectual property rights. 
  • Drawings must be done without the assistance of an adult
  • All drawings must have a unique title and a brief explanatory text about the drawing.
  • All submissions must include the Name and Age of the Child/Youth.

WINNERS

Winners' names will be posted on Fort Greely Family and MWR Facebook Page. Prizes do not imply endorsement by the Army or any other party.

Winner Selection and Notification:

  • 1 Winner for each division (per age group) will be randomly selected after the close of the participant's submission period (11:59 p.m. (AKDT) April 2020). 
  • Winners will be notified by private message within five (5) days following the selection of Winner. 
  • Fort Greely Family and MWR shall have no liability for Winner's failure to receive notices.
  • If Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within seven days (7) from the time award notification was sent, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner will be selected. 

PROPERTY RELEASE

  • By entering the contest (photo, text, etc.), parents or guardians grant Fort Greely Family and MWR the right to use submissions for purposes of advertising in any media outlets without notice.

Terms & Conditions:

In the event, Fort Greely Family and MWR is prevented from continuing with the Contest, or the integrity of the Contest is severely undermined by any event beyond the Army's control, shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the Contest without further obligation. 

Fort Greely Family and MWR will not be held responsible for entries which may be undelivered, delayed or illegible entries. Fort Greely Family and MWR reserves the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and/or voids any entries submitted fraudulently.
