Heart-pumping AMRAP action with our high-intensity interval training class will have your metabolism trying to play catch up all day long. The class will teach you the basic Olympic lifts while building up your cardiovascular endurance, a great introduction to functional fitness.
- Fourth Saturday of the Month
- Time: 2:30-3:30 p.m.
- Instructor: Randy Meeks
Styles of high-intensity interval training:
- AMRAP - As many rounds/reps as possible
- EMOM - Every minute on the minute
For the EMOM, we train Olympic movement with a stabilizing exercise like the deadlift and single-arm rows. To keep your heart rate up, we start the exercise at the top of each minute. So the faster you get your reps done, the more rest you get. And you rotate between the exercises every minute for the set amount of time.
Then we do an AMRAP portion for endurance where we rotate through a series of bodyweight and cardio movements as many times as we can in a set time frame.
All exercises are great for men and women of all fitness level.
