TOMMY DAVIDSON

JOIN A LIVE AUDIENCE AGAIN LAUGHING THE NIGHT AWAY WITH TOMMY DAVIDSON

Tommy Davidson started his career as a standup comedian in Washington, D.C. and it didn’t take long for him to gain a loyal fanbase. He was spotted by major concert  promoters and booked as the opening act for Patti LaBelle, Kenny G and Luther Vandross.

Soon he moved to Hollywood, headlined the biggest rooms, met influential director Robert Townsend, landed his first national TV appearance and met Keenan Ivory Wayans who offered him an audition for In Living Color. Along with Davidson and Wayans, the uniquely talented cast included Jamie Foxx, Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans  and David Alan Grier. The show made TV history and earned the cast a slew of awards during and after its 1990 – 1994 run.

Davidson continued to showcase his exceptional range with stand-up comedy plus acting and musical performances. His film work began opposite Halle Berry in Strictly  Business and was followed with film roles in Spike Lee’s Bamboozled, and Jim  Carrey’s Ace Ventura II: When Nature Calls. He was featured in the 2017 documentary I Am Comic, and in 2018’s Dying Laughing.

He has fronted three Showtime specials, On Strength of  New York, Illin’ in Philly and Takin’ it to DC, plus hosted and starred in Showtime’s Chocolate Sundaes special, and guest starred in Jim Carrey’s series I’m Dying Up Here. As a voice artist, America loved him as the star of Will Smith’s animated series Youngin’s, in Disney’s animated series The Proud Family and as Cream Corn in the spoof Black Dynamite.

Thanks to Kevin Hart’s Comedy Central show, Hart of the City, Rob Maher’s standup got some valuable exposure. Maher was a semifinalist on Comedy Central’s Up Next competition and has performed for the troops in 17 countries including Afghanistan, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Greece and Italy.
