DFMWR COVID-19 Updates

The health and safety of our Soldiers, Family Members, Retirees, Civilians, and our Fort Greely community is our top priority.

Family and MWR is working closely with USAG Fort Greely leadership to determine how the latest information will affect our facilities. This will result in cancellations of some events, programs, and services. 

As new developments occur, we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the entire community.

Family and MWR Facilities

We have increased our protocols in sanitizing ALL of our facilities. In essence, high touchpoint areas such as interior and exterior doors/handles, countertops, surfaces, sing in area, pieces of equipment, pieces of furniture, tables, chairs, among others).

We encourage our patrons to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Guidelines and practice social distancing. Learn more about COVID-19 at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov

Family and MWR Pass

  • Effective 03/31, the Family and MWR Passes have been suspended to help reduce the number of personnel accessing the base at any given time. This decision will be reassessed no earlier than April 30.

Army Community Service

  • Effective 03/24, Army Community Service will transition to provide services via telephone and email/computer. Call (907)873-2479 for assistance.

Aurora Community Activity Center

Effective 03/18, the Aurora Community Activity Center will be open -ONLY- for carry-out food service offered by Fahrenheit Bar & Grille.  

  • Fahrenheit Bar & Grille
    • Will remain open on regular business hours as of 03/18 for carry-out food only.
      • Monday-Thursday: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
      • Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
      • Sunday: 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
    • Cones will be placed 10 feet apart for the line for social distancing.

  • Game Room
    • Effective 03/18, the game room will be closed until further notice.
  • Movie Room
    • Effective 03/18, the movie room will be closed until further notice.
  • Classrooms and Multipurpose Rooms
    • Effective 03/18, the classrooms and multipurpose rooms will be closed until further notice.
  • Dining Room
    • Effective 03/18, the dining room will be closed until further notice.
  • Buffalo Bowl
    • Effective 03/17, Buffalo Bowl will be closed until further notice.
  • Kids Zone
    • Effective 03/17, the Kids Zone will be closed until further notice.

Auto Skills Center

  • Effective 03/24, Auto Skills Center will be closed until further notice.

Child & Youth Services

  • Effective 03/25, the Child Development Center and School Age Center will remain open on regular business hours for care - Mission Essential Status ONLY.
  • Effective 03/25, the Youth Center will remain open on regular business hours for youth 12 years old and under - Mission Essential Status ONLY.
  • To determine Mission Essential Status for Child and Youth care, parents must fill out the Verification Form and return to Parent Central Services, Bldg. 847.
  • Effective 03/23, the Child Development Center will implement temperature checks upon child check-in. The screening will take place at the CDC front desk area. Children with a temperature of 100F degrees or higher will be excluded from that day's care.

  • Family Child Care (FCC) Home
    • The CYS FCC Home is open!
    • Want flexible, convenient child care – at a reasonable cost? Family Child Care (FCC) Home is a great option for eligible DOD civilians and Active Duty military! Quality care, at a 15% lower cost. Also: smaller group sizes and more individual attention in a home environment.

    • Parents interested must visit www.militarychildcare.com and select FCC as their preference for care.

    • Please contact Parent Central Services at 907-873-4599 for additional information or assistance with paperwork.

Outdoor Recreation

  • Effective 03/27, Outdoor Recreation will be open for equipment rental by appointment -ONLY- until further notice. 
  • To schedule an appointment, please call (907)873-4210.
  • Hours of Operation
    • Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    • Saturday-Sunday: Closed
  • Effective 3/24, all Outdoor Recreation trips and courses have been suspended until further notice.

Sports, Fitness & Aquatics

  • Pool/Aquatics
    • Effective 03/24, the Pool will be closed until further notice.

  • Physical Fitness Center and PRTF (Indoor Track)
    • Will remain open on regular business hours as of 03/23. 
    • Please wipe down the equipment before and after use.
    • Please practice social distancing. 
    • Effective 03/24, all Fitness Classes will be canceled until further notice.
  • Steam Room and Sauna
    • Effective 03/17, the Steam Room and Sauna will be closed until further notice.

Take steps to protect yourself.

Take action and stay informed about the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. Simple measures can protect you and our community. 

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with
  • unwashed hands. 
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available. 
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. 
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. 
  • Practice social distancing - avoid public places if you cannot stay six feet away from other people.
